Jeri Ryan Expecting Girl!
Just announced last night/this morning! Jeri and Christophe are said to be ecstatic and also trying to choose a French name for la petite...

So, in an effort to be helpful, here are my votes. Not that she's rushing to ask me or anything...

Capucine Emé
Danielle Emé
Élodie Emé
Gabrielle Emé
Geneviève Emé
Océane Emé

What do you think?

Anyway, I have a deadline I need to meet. But I had to share.

::hurries off to write some more::

Out of these, I like Elodie, but...

Tell me, why are Americans so fascinated with non-native accented vowels in their children's names, which are later almost invariably replaced with misplaced apostrophes (if acknowledged at all)?

Soooo.....this is what happens when I don't read the entire post I'm replying to: I make a complete ass of myself.

Of course I didn't read the part about them *wanting* a French name (presumably because the dad is French?)

Please don't hate me for being so snarky :-(

Oh honey! Snark will never get you hated around here! LOL I'm sorry I haven't had time to respond, though. I was trying to finish the story I just posted for Rachel's P&P Archive Milestone post and was up until 5am.

Yes, Christophe Eme, Jeri's husband, is a French chef that lives in LA now. So I am guessing that's why they want a French name for the little one. At least she's not considering naming the poor thing after food, like Gwyneth Paltrow did with her kid, Apple. :)

I dunno, Soufflé Emé has a nice ring to it...
