Oh, My Poor Casey...
So today is the day that Casey was voted off over at TWoP's SVU Survivor thread. She made it back from three points no fewer than four times and for that alone the Limers deserve some praise, so Way to Go, Casey Fans for keeping her alive as long as we did.

Because some of my commentary was taken to be a lecture over at the thread, I will no longer be commenting re: Casey or Alex there. But here, this is my domain and I will say whatever I damn well please about either of them.

And...that being said...I have nothing to say at this time. LOL I'm not really awake enough.

Anyway, here is my completely frivolous post for the day.

Twoodles.

I'm proud she lasted this long. I would have sworn she would have been the first one killed off. ;)

I stopped going to TWoP after "Night" aired. The Casey!Hate bothered me too much after that.

Yeah, I should have stayed away myself. I'll finish out the Survivor game but then I'll stop going. I don't understand the Casey!Hate and I get really, really tired of people comparing her to things like fungus and cockroaches. And the word 'lurch' is no longer part of my vocabulary, except in fanfic, when I am using it to describe someone other than Casey. :)

I could understand the hate if it was for a valid reason, because I am no stranger to hating TV characters/actresses and I always hated when fangirls/fanboys would come in and be all, "You don't like Phoebe/Alyssa because you're jealous" and wah wah wah. But having been around that forum, it seems to me that the only reason a good majority of them don't like Casey is because she's not Alex. And that pisses me off. That's not a valid reason, yo. ;)

And what bothers me the most? Diane knows there's a chunk of the fandom that can't STAND her simply because she's not Stephanie March. She's got a good sense of humor about it (and being an actress, I'm sure you come to realize that you can't please all of the people all of the time), but still. I feel bad for her.

Somehow I missed this response before. :( Sorry.

But I agree with you. If you have a compelling reason for hating a particular character, fine. Don't bore me with the details, especially if I happen to adore the very same character. I won't tell you that you can't hate the character.

But the reason has to be compelling. Not "she wears funny clothes" or "she never wins a case". Those are not compelling reasons to hate a character, imo, because the character has ZERO control over those things.

And yes, I feel badly that DN has to put up with a bunch of whiners who despise her just because she isn't someone else. That makes NO SENSE to me at all. Eventually I am going to make t-shirts for us Limers and I'm going to send her one. At least she'll know that someone loves her and Casey. ;)

that is a bummer. however, one cannot account for the bad taste of others. :) s'pose we must take the bitter lemons along with the sweet limes ;)

Mmmmm...limes...

Great, now I am hungry for one...and we don't have any!

We have lemons, sure, but no limes... Sigh...
