In the words of Kim Possible: "So the drama!"

It's dark. I'm riding around in a cab in my own town (which has mediocre public transportation) because I didn't plan ahead and buy myself a car. My features show a combination of sadness and disgust that I should just suck up. I know. I've left a note which no one will read...

Dear CSI,

I loved you...once. It seemed so long ago. Once there was excitement in our relationship. New things, interesting things. Plot. Intelligent characterization. Fun. But you fell into the Angst Trap and made Sara a shadow of what she should have been. I thought, when you brought Sofia into the picture, you had seen the error of your ways. But no. You wasted her potential, too. And what has this gotten you? They've left, both of them. So I'm leaving, too. Before I do something rash and put a baseball bat through the new flat screen TV. Please know that in my version of the "end of Sara", her note to Gil explains how she's realized that she's always been a lesbian, how things could never have worked between them because of Gil's...well...penis, and that she's off to find Sofia and the ability to smile, not necessarily in that order. Have fun self-destructing! You deserve it.

Also, I understand from my beautiful gf that this past week's L&O:SVU episode starred O-bitchia Ben-sonofabitch in a possibly irredeemable episode that--had I watched it--would have rendered it impossible for me to continue to write C/O because I would have carved the O portion of the pairing up with my bat'tleth and fed her to the things that ate Shazza in "Pitch Black". This is not good news.

However, in the ever optimistic ways of two Limers who just want Casey Novak to be happy, we have an idea that I will elaborate on when I write those drabbles I owe everyone. I'm planning to write them over the Thanksgiving holiday as I will have a significant break from work and school and, therefore, the ability to concentrate for three consecutive minutes at a time. It will be a bonus drabble, for all to enjoy. /cryptic

As for me, this weekend I will be largely incommunicado because I am off to Charlotte, NC for the last weekend of the Renaissance Festival, which I attend every year. To give you an idea of how excited I am about this: I have been able to sleep in at Christmas every year since I turned approximately 23. I woke up at 6:15am today and have not been able to get back to sleep.

I will catch up on flists and emails and everything Sunday night. Until then, have a wonderful weekend and take care of yourselves and each other!

SVU: I was still able to believe that they were a couple, or had feelings for each other. It would have just been a monumental point in their relationship.

Don't hate Olivia, I would have done the same damn thing if someone fucked with my best friend.

PS... apparently Elisabeth Rohm is prego, I'm still trying to find the article.

So you would screw over your girlfriend and try to get her fired because she used your best friend a bit?

Damn, I'm glad I ain't your girlfriend, and I pity the fool who is or will be.

Oooh, ooh! Dish, Erin. I don't watch the show anymore, so wha' happen'd? Did Olivia run off with Stabler or something? It sounds like the writers of SVU needed to be filleted with your bat'leth a long time ago, but I guess that's why I just don't watch much TV anymore. I'm tired of doing all the work of looking for subtext. I want it to be MAINtext, dammit! Oh, dear. Now I've resorted to swearing. Now I'll have to go to confession.

Sorry for the rant,

As I understand it, a schizophrenic man injured Elliot, rendering him temporarily blind. Olivia took issue with this and tried to have the incompetent man extradited to Louisiana to face the death penalty. When this didn't work and when Casey put Elliot on the stand against Liv's wishes, she found something supposedly incriminating against Casey and turned her in to McCoy, who apparently came within words of firing my favorite redheaded ADA. Elliot regained his eyesight and they discovered that the perp was actually incompetent to stand trial (failed his 730 exam) in the end, so Casey's actions were warranted. Or so I think. I didn't actually watch the episode. My beautiful gf told me about it.

Yeah, I'm planning to "fix" Sara's leaving to include Sofia...and possibly send both of them to Miami... *veg*

The show goes off the TiVo season pass manager as of today, tho' given the craptitude of late, this was the best send-off Sara could have [outside of actually running off with Sofia]. Well, not including that letter... Okay, I said I wanted to fix it...

Oooooh... To Miami! What a fabulous idea! Get rid of Wolfe and Berkeley. Replace with Sidle and Curtis. Instant happiness! :D

I would have carved the O portion of the pairing up with my bat'tleth and fed her to the things that ate Shazza in "Pitch Black".

Yeah, that's about how you would have reacted, and it's better than that whore deserves if you ask me.

I'm pretty sure I'm done with both shows also. Well, I lost all hope for CSI when Grissom robbed the cradle, but I couldn't stand to watch after Sofia's disappearing trick. I miss the "Sara that was." SVU will be harder to ditch, because Casey is still there, kicking ass and taking names. But the sight of Olivia makes me stabby, so I don't know how long my devotion to TLG can hold out.
seftiri: My Anti Drugseftiri on November 19th, 2007 01:44 am (UTC)
It is perfectly okay to ditch SVU, sweetie. I haven't watched it in over a year and it has not changed how I feel about TLG at all...

I hate to think of anyone having to suffer that horrible writing. I count the forced SVU break one of the few upsides to the writer's strike. LOL

I'm using my default icon only because I don't have my own version of that adorable Casey O_o one you use for this kind of moment:

It took me a second or two to work out whom you were talking about because my immediate reaction was to "O-bitchia Ben-sonofabitch" as "Osama Bin Laden"!
seftiri: O_oseftiri on November 19th, 2007 01:49 am (UTC)

Sorry about that! As a general rule, I don't tend to blog about Osama...other than to wonder why our military cannot seem to find a 6'4" man who has to have dialysis three times a week.

Though I don't think I've ever ruminated on that subject on this blog before now... ;)

And on SVU Elliot's blind now, I don't watch it anymore either though:P

I saw a preview where and it showed Elliot getting knocked out, then he woke up in the hospital with a whole bunch of bruises around his eyes and seemed really confused. And then I read on a message board that he is blind. It's just more annoying EO angst!
seftiri: LMAOseftiri on November 19th, 2007 01:51 am (UTC)

Don't laugh, but Elliot got his eyesight back by the end of the episode, supposedly.

But yes, more awful EO angst galore!

now I see why I only watch those two shows in reruns from way back...

I've done a pretty lousy job of keeping up with both CSI and SVU, and I can't say I regret it. I had planned to leave CSI when Sara left in any event, because really. Not much of a point in me watching it afterwards.

But I've got to know, lest I resort to Wiki-ing the answer, or actually WATCHING the episode, what happened on SVU?

Also, enjoy yourself at the Renaissance Restival!

See the comment I left to sr_m_grammatica above for the spoilers on SVU.

As for the RenFest, I had a great time! I even got some holiday shopping done! And had enough money left over to buy a round trip ticket to Vegas for January before school starts again. Hooray!

Don't give up!
Awww, Erin, I think you take SVU waaaay too seriously. I didn't like this episode either, but I'm not going to quit 'shipping Casey and Olivia because of one fucked-up episode. Also, since your storyline of C and O being together is in a separate, alternate universe from the series, I think you should try separating the series reality from the fanfic reality. Other writers pair up Olivia with Alex or Elliott, but that hasn't turned you off course, right? I think your stories are far too good to quit writing them because the SVU writers are incompetent hacks.

P.S. It's my turn to apologize for not having written for so long. I've been drowning in schoolwork, and am now struggling with a stomach virus that won't quit :-(

Re: Don't give up!
Actually, I didn't watch the episode. I said had I watched it, it would have made it hard for me to keep writing C/O. But since I didn't watch it (I haven't watched the show in two years because it's gotten so incredibly badly written and I couldn't stand it), I am still going to write C/O.

I don't actually take this as seriously as you might think.

I'm sorry you've been sick! I hope you feel better soon!
