Jillie tagged me for this one...
20 random facts about Erin/DiNovia:

1) I am 35 years old but frequently get mistaken for 21 years old, sometimes less.

2) I was taller than my third-grade teacher when I was in the third grade.

3) My first words, spoken at the age of 3 months, were "Hello there!" My mother screamed, thought I was possessed by the devil.

4) The first fanfiction I ever read on the Internet was Scullder fic. I was supposed to be using my brother's Duke account to research occult phenomena and script writing, but instead spent nearly the entire week drooling over het fic about Scully and Mulder. To this day, the scent of pear soap reminds me of that week and Scully and Mulder love. It was February and I walked to the computer lab and back every day in a pair of birks. I should have lost about 6 toes.

5) The first fanfiction I consciously remember writing was "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" fanfic, that I scratched out in pencil on handwriting practice tablets that I nicked from school. I was ten.

6) When I was eight, I told my mother that I was going to marry Jaclyn Smith (of the Charlie's Angels) and was quite disturbed when she told me that girls couldn't marry other girls. I am still quite disturbed that girls can't marry other girls legally in this country.

7) When I filled out my census information in 2000, I wrote on the back of the envelope "THIS IS THE CENSUS FORM OF A LESBIAN CITIZEN" in giant block letters with a Sharpie pen.

8) If I had been born a boy, my name would be Justin Thyme Hoagland, because I was just in time to get my father a compassionate discharge from the Army before he went to Vietnam. Every morning, I thank God I was born a girl.

9) I had to eat lunch with the guidance counselor at my junior high school everday during my eighth grade year because the school officials were afraid for my life. They had to pluck me from the middle of a group of 100 kids all threatening to kill me during recess one day. The kids were mad because five of the most popular girls in school got in trouble for stealing some stuff from me and destroying it. I turned them in and they got detention for three days and the head of the Varsity cheerleaders got kicked off the team. I ran into one of the girls years later in college and she stopped me to say that she recognised me but she couldn't quite place me. When I told her who I was, she began to cry. She asked me to forgive her for all the horrible things that she had ever done to me as a part of that group. Of course, I forgave her. I forgave them all.

10) I read Tarot and have since I was 17 years old. I own over 30 Tarot decks and choose them based on the art (in general) and how the Justice and the Death cards look. My personal card has been Justice for years. My favorite decks are those that depict Death as a woman or a skeleton. I do not read Tarot for myself. I used to barter my readings for other things, like lunches out or small gifts or in-kind trade until someone convinced me I could actually make money at it. I charged $20 an hour for readings for six months. I don't charge any more. Every year my Mother asks me to do two sets of readings for her; one on her birthday and one on New Years Eve.

11) I moved to South Dakota when I was 21 years old so that I could study Lakota, the language of the Sioux. It is one of the most beautiful languages I have ever studied.

12) I no longer have a large intestine.

13) I collect bladed weapons, flutes (and other wind instruments, such as ocarinas), things with bees on them, unusual names, autographs of women who have influenced my life in some way, and versions of the Dolly Parton song, "Jolene".

14) I am the number one junkie fan of a Renaissance Festival act by the name of "Fool Hearty". They are a couple who dress in Harlequin style and they do an act they call "The Fool School" and it is stuffed full with zany puns and ridonkulous shtick humor and I could practically quote it for you by heart if you asked. To show my love for them, I made my own fangirly T-shirt that has painted pictures of them on the front (complete with jingle bells on the tips of Marquis's cap) and the words "Fool School Junkie" on the back. I wore it to the Ren Fest that year and they loved it so much, they insisted of getting photographed with me. I try to go to the Ren Fest every year, just to see them.

15) I have seen the movie "Aliens" 274 times. I have seen the first three "Star Wars" movies over 100 times each. I have seen the movie "Clue" so many times, at one point I could do the entire movie and all three endings from memory.

16) I am still in love with a woman I met in college though she is married now and we haven't seen each other in over 10 years. I dream about her at least once a month and half of those dreams wake me with tears. She is my "what if" and there is a part of my heart that will always belong to her, whether she wants it or not.

17) My father changed my middle name upon being informed that my mother had had a girl. Originally, my name was to be Erin Britt (after Britt Eklund, the actress) but when the nurse asked my father if he and my mother had picked out a name, he blurted out "Erin Michele" instead. Michele is the name of his favorite niece, the third daughter of my mother's older sister. Wait, it gets weirder. Because I was named after her, Michele has always been one of my favorite cousins (I have over fifty cousins on that side of the family alone). Michele has one child, a girl, for whom I was her first babysitter. Her name is Brittany, but everyone in the family calls her Britt. Michele knew nothing of the story of my name before she named her own daughter.

18) I did not lose my virginity until I was 25 years old.

19) I received a signed post card from Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny in the mail in 1993. The short letter enclosed with the signed photograph thanked me for being such a loyal and devoted fan. I have never written to either Gillian Anderson or David Duchovny. No one who I know or have ever known has ever owned up to writing to them on my behalf. It is my own personal X-File.

20) If I could do whatever I wanted for a living and make a living wage at it, I would play video games for a living. I cannot get enough of video games. I love them. This is why I do not own a video game machine of any type. I would never leave the house again. I have no video games to speak of at the moment. My other PC is in storage in Boston and has my copy of The Sims and Diablo 2 on it. My copy of the Sims 2 is here but this PC cannot play it. I have a feeling when I get my PC back down here that no one will see me for at least three days while I become re-accquainted with Diablo 2.

There you go.

More weirdness from the queen of weird.

Twoodles.

I had a feeling you'd like those. ;) I won't tell you how long ago my Scullder infatuation was because I think you are currently near the age I was then. Oi. I can hear the wrinkles and the gray hairs popping up.
