Two Limers (on opposite sides of the country) watching a Cesar for Susan G. Komen Foundation auction on eBay for six days in nail biting distress, waiting for someone, ANYONE to bid on the pink puchibag signed by Diane Neal....$0.00.

The same two Limers bidding on and winning the pink puchibag signed by Diane Neal even though neither of them a) has a dog or b) likes the color pink...$115.00.

Making sure the pink puchibag signed by Diane Neal for this amazing charity does not go unsold...Priceless.

Yes, we did it. Another Limer (ETA: I can now reveal the other Limer since she practically revealed herself below--piekid) and myself simply could NOT sit by and watch that puchibag go unsold.

Having spread word of the auction as far and wide as I knew how to do (posted to 3 LJ communities, 4 Yahoo groups, and an online forum) yet generating no bids for the item, piekid and I decided to take it upon ourselves to make sure it got sold.

In order to minimize the hit to our checkbooks, she and I elected to go halvsies on the bag. It will remain in her possession, though, for its lifetime.

Yeah, okay. "Limerooni" is too good a word for us, we know.

But it's for a GOOD CAUSE. That counts for something, right?

No, huh?

Well, damn.

We couldn't help ourselves! We're Limers!

What's that you say? There's no such thing as the "Limer Defense"?

Even if either of us did have a wee dog, it's not like we woulda put him/her in the bag anyway!

I'm just digging the hole deeper, aren't I?

What's a puchibag? And what kind of charity is the thingie, thingie foundation?

Other than that, go you! *g*

A puchibag is a faux leather purse-like carrier (in this case, pink) to carry around one's 15lb. or less sized dog, Paris Hilton style. A) I don't have a dog, let alone some itty bitty dog that needs a sweater. B) I don't like the color pink. C) I never will be girly enough to cary one of these.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation is the largest foundation for breast cancer research and fundraising in the US, I think. They brought us the pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness.

Hence, why the puchibag is pink.

I'll stop myself from asking 'what' Paris Hilton is, someone tried to explain her to me once but couldn't think of an answer.

As to the bag... I'm kind of scared that Diane would, at one time, have owned something like that. Dog bags? That's just weird. But she does get the extra points for donating to such a worthy cause.

Trust me, she didn't own one of these. She just signed one for the auction.

Though I wouldn't necessarily put it past her, I just don't see her toting her wee dog around in one of these. At least, I think her dog is wee. I'm not sure of that, either, actually.

Crikey, I need to review my Limer Goddess notes, don't I? I'll never pass the exam at this rate.

She does indeed have a wee dog. She mentioned in one of her emails to the group having to buy a wee Frisbee for him. ;)

Of two Limers buying what is--essentially--a product of no use to either of them simply because they couldn't stand the idea of seeing it go unsold. LOL

So...what would that be? Oh, right! I have a word for that.

We two Limerooni's are Limifying! LOL

Thanks! I made the banner for the layout but dancing_crazy told me how to put it in my layers. piekid did the coding for the random definitions that reload every time the page reloads. I picked the colors and the rest of the little things. I like my little Limer Lounge. :)

And yeah, I think we Limers do rock. Many of us are not just fangirly but also donate to the causes that DN promotes, too. Doing our Limer part to help the world. :D

And yes, Amelia is wonderful! I have three Amelia icons, two made by my friend Shay and one made by me, myself, and I. :D

Well, since my mother is a transplant nurse working with kidney/liver/pancreas transplant patients and my uncle who lives with us is on the kidney transplant list, I have to say yea! for organ donation!

And for gifting in honor of DN's sister.

And sorority community service is nothing to sneeze at! Good work done in so many needy places! Rock on!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I knew you'd post about this, I KNEW IT!

It will remain in her possession, though, for its lifetime.

Though she has yet to figure out what to do with it...

So we rock, and are the ultimate Limers.

That we are...

So can I add your name to the original post then? :D

OMG! You totally rock! That's all I can really think right now.

Why thank you, dear! LOL I try. :D
Stacystacyyy on November 8th, 2005 09:19 am (UTC)
LOL Erin, I was wondering who ended up bidding on that. I had it on my Ebay watch list, and was seriously about to bid when it was close to ending with no winner, even though I had didn't have anywhere near that much money. Thank goodness for you and piekid! It had to be done.
seftiri: Diane @ Habitat4Humanityseftiri on November 8th, 2005 02:35 pm (UTC)
Yep, it sure did. LOL

I'm glad, though, to hear that we weren't the only ones biting our nails about it. LOL
