Health Update
So I just got a call from my doctor and the MRI/MRA came back normal.

For those of you keeping score, that means that I spent 32 minutes jammed head first in a tennis ball can with my head caged to a board trying to not freak out and only able to remember one song--Buffalo Gals--for nothing.

Well, not for nothing. We now know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I do not have a brain tumor or an aneurysm waiting to burst.

So that leaves the diagnosis of Sporadic Hemiplegic Migraines with Neuro Deficit. Which is what the docs are going with.

I'll be ordering my medic alert bracelet, I guess.

But yay! It's not a brain tumor or an aneurysm.

But boo! It still means I can't eat 90% of all the foods on Earth.

But yay! I'm losing weight!

But boo! No more chocolate ever!

But yay! It's not a brain tumor or an aneurysm.

Oh, in other news, my bicycle is ready for me to pick up tomorrow. That means I will soon be tooling around town on a Lime green 26" cruiser.

It's the little things, right? ;)

i'm all for the yay part of this post :)

and i think that you will find balance :) after all, isn't life all about learning how not to hurt yourself when you fall? :)

Oh, that was the wrong analogy to use. LOL Since I've been walking, I've fallen and injured myself something like 37 times? I think we counted it up one year. And I added me falling backward down the stairs.

It doesn't look like that's a lesson I'll be learning anytime soon. LOL

I'm so glad that it isn't anything more serious! The chocolate thing still bites but, hey, you're not looking at your brain imploding/exploding so that's always a plus. ;)
seftiri: Casey Kicks Assseftiri on November 22nd, 2005 10:38 pm (UTC)
Yes. I am very happy about that.

However, I am not kidding when I say that 90% of all food on the planet is now on the AVOID THIS list. LOL
ralstralst on November 22nd, 2005 10:32 pm (UTC)
That's great news!

And I'm sure if we put our heads and national cuisines together we can find you something yummy you can eat to make up for the chocolate withdrawl.

Thank you! Yeah, I like normal MRIs. That makes me feel a lot better. LOL
Rebeccatheniwokesoftly on November 22nd, 2005 11:06 pm (UTC)
Yay that you're not deathly ill!

Stinky that you can't eat a lot of stuff. If it makes you feel any better, there's a good chance I have diabetes and won't be able to eat a lot of stuff, too.
seftiri: Casey Hugseftiri on November 22nd, 2005 11:59 pm (UTC)
No, I do not feel better because you might have diabetes. I am going to hug you because of that, darnit! *hug* Take care of yourself, darlin'.
celievampcelievamp on November 22nd, 2005 11:11 pm (UTC)
glad that MRI was clear and welcome to the ranks of ex-chocolate eaters!

Thanks and--more dubiously--thanks. :/ It's hard but thank god for holiday candy. Peppermint is helping right now. But come Easter, I will be weeping for my lost chocolate peanut butter eggs...I can no longer have chocolate or any nuts at all.

Stacystacyyy on November 22nd, 2005 11:30 pm (UTC)
No tumor would DARE invade your brain, Erin. And hooray for that!
seftiri: DN Joyseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 12:04 am (UTC)
Thanks! One would certainly hope they would stay away. Now to work on taming the headaches. :)
Danielle: Dana - Shoe Money Tonight!dani_ellie on November 22nd, 2005 11:34 pm (UTC)
Oh you have no idea how relieved I am to hear that. *hugs*!

Sucks that you can't eat many foods, though. I'm discovering myself that all the fun things to eat hurt my mouth. You have NO CLUE how upset I was when I realized that I can't eat corn on the cob anymore! *weep*! Foods suck. ;)

But YAY for the rest of it! *bounce*!
seftiri: DiMar Squeeseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 12:06 am (UTC)
Thanks, hon! *hugs back* I'm pretty happy too!

As for corn on the cob, I haven't been able to eat that for years. LOL But now I'm forbidden to have olives and that? That is killing me. ;)

You writing?

::big sigh of relief::

Not really a good diagnosis, but it's not the worst, either. At least there's no cutting. :)

::much hugs::
seftiri: Casey Kicks Assseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 12:08 am (UTC)
No, no cutting! Whee! I've had enough major surgeries for one year, I think. LOL

The important thing is I'll live. I may have a lot of pain on occasion and I don't know if I'll be able to drive ever again. But then, who cares about that when I have a new LIME GREEN BIKE?? LOL

::much hugs back, babe:: ;)
penny_grrl on November 23rd, 2005 04:19 am (UTC)
So happy to hear that it is not a tumor or an aneurysm. Although it definitely sucks that you have a crazily restricted diet. No chocolate??!! What the hell kind of evil form of torture is that?
seftiri: aerynseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 04:41 am (UTC)
I know. It gets worse. You should just see the list of things I can't have.

I can only have farmer, ricotta, cottage, cream, american and velveeta cheeses, for god's sake and only four of those can actually be called a "cheese"!

Almost all fruit is off the list, even ::weep:: bananas.

No olives, no pickles, no relish, no onions, no hotdogs, no beef! My God, the 4th of July is going to SUCK from now on. LOL

But I'll live. I always do! ;)
Shit: keirashitashii on November 23rd, 2005 04:53 am (UTC)
Ah, I'm so happy you don't have a brain tumor or aneurysm. ::does happy good health dance of JOY!::

I mean, poo about the chocolate, but way more overpowering yay about the goodness!!! ::hugs:: and of course yay for the bike!
seftiri: Limers Will Buyseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 05:07 am (UTC)

::hugs back::

And thanks for the yay about my bike! I am very happy about that too! LOL

Shut up and smile: Dr. Lightmorningafter2 on November 23rd, 2005 05:50 am (UTC)
Sheesh... I wish I could empathize with the whole restricted diet thing, but all I've got is no bubble gum, popcorn and/or caramel/toffee until my braces come off. (not that it stops me...)

Still, at least you're... relatively okay (which, by the way, I am VERY glad to hear). *hugs* It's something, right?
seftiri: Benson Cute Smileseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 06:09 am (UTC)

In a year when I've come close to death twice too many times for my taste, being relatively okay is everything! ;)

I think I'll live with the diet restrictions! Not that they are helping all that much at the moment. But maybe it's a "it takes time to kick in" type thing...who knows? :D

Yay! I'm glad you're okay. :)

Hooray for the lime bike. *grin* Now all you need is a lime helmet to match.
seftiri: limesseftiri on November 23rd, 2005 03:43 pm (UTC)
Well....funny you should say that. LOL

I have a black helmet but I bought die-cut lettering in Lime and stickers of limes and put certain phrases all over the thing. LOL So I sorta do have a lime helmet! LOL

Yeah I still have no clue what all that medical mumbo-jumbo is, but that's good you don't have headaches! LOL or well, you might not have as many any more. Sucks you have to watch what you eat ... hey, we can carb/calorie count together! LMFAO though mine is less serious, I can still eat what I want and just cringe through it later. Though nothing I've eaten has given me troubles yet, what do you find aggravates your egg (lol, your bean ... your head ... I just call it an 'egg') the most? Cuz my mom has been in bed almost once a week with migraines, and maybe she's eating the wrong things as well? Oh no, that's a sign I could be in for migraines when I'm older! *facepalm*
