A Birthday Wish!
Happy Birthday, oxopinkpirateox

I'm sorry I'm a little late with my Happy Birthday Wishes today! I hope you have many many more, each happier than the last!

You were one of the first people to friend me and I have never forgotten that. Thank you for your continued support and friendship!

~Erin

Here's a little bitty romantical birthday C/O for your birthday, just off the top of my head.

---

What a day. Casey lugged her briefcase and several thick files into the elevator at One HP and sighed as she pressed the button for her floor. She'd already been up since 3:11am, when her cell phone had jarred her out of a particularly lovely dream involving her, a certain detective, and a bowl of hot fudge. That it was that certain detective on the phone didn't quite make up for the hour, especially when she'd needed an emergency warrant. Which meant Casey had had to get up, get dressed, slog down to the squad in the pouring rain, find out if a warrant was...well...warranted, then pick a judge to grace with her presence at 4am.

She ended up choosing Larsen, who'd answered her front door wielding a hammer. She had signed the warrant, which Casey appreciated, but not as much as she appreciated not being whacked in the head with a carpentry tool.

Then off to the apartment of the perp to deliver the warrant. The CSI's and her detectives had found a plethora of potential evidence...that all had to be sent off to various labs. So, while they waited, she'd spent an edifying few hours watching Fin and Munch interrogate the perp until a lightbulb went on over his head and he remembered he could lawyer up. Which he did.

So she'd spent an hour or so talking to the perp through his new mouthpiece, a junior associate over at Lionel Granger's firm who had been taught well. But not well enough.

By the time that initial meeting was over, half the lab results had come back. A trek or two to various buildings smelling mostly of antiseptic and Casey had enough to lob at Granger's new pit bull to practically guarantee his client would take a plea. Which, of course, would save the taxpayers the cost of a trial.

The perp took the plea, Casey wrote up the paperwork and sent it to the appropriate offices, and now it was all over.

It was also a Saturday. And her birthday. Which, not surprisingly, no one had remembered.

The important thing is we got another rapist off the street, Novak, she admonished herself. You know your father remembered. His voice is probably on your voicemail right now, with his yearly birthday warble.

She smiled with the thought of her father's yearly call. Every year he added a new verse to the traditional "Happy Birthday" song and she looked forward to hearing what he'd made up this time. She twisted the doorknob on her office door and entered the tiny room, stopping short when her eyes caught a bit of light where there should be none.

Upon further inspection, Casey discovered that it was a cupcake...with a single candle. It was sitting on a small scattering of confetti but that was it. No card, no note, no indication of who it was from.

Until...

"Make a wish, Counselor," came a husky voice from the doorway.

Casey looked up to see Olivia Benson leaning on the doorjamb of her office door. Struck dumb by the sheer intensity of the look in the detective's eyes, the ADA swallowed, made a quick wish, and blew out the candle.

"Now take a bite."

Casey peeled the cupcake paper away and took a bite of the gooey, chocolatey, Heavenly pastry. She tried not to moan but it was just.that.good. When she was done she offered it to Olivia.

"Want some?" she asked softly.

Olivia walked toward the younger woman, a sexy grin spreading across her features. She reached for the cupcake. "I'll just try a little icing," she said. Then she put the cupcake back on Casey's desk, pulled the younger woman into her arms and kissed her. Deeply. When she was done, she licked an errant bit of icing from Casey's upper lip.

"Happy Birthday, Casey."

Trembling with disbelief, the attorney whispered, "Thank you."

Olivia smiled gently. "What'd you wish for?"

A smile bloomed in Casey's eyes just before she leaned in to kiss Olivia again.

"This," she said, when they parted. "Just this."

---

Okay, I'm sorry. I started this like HOURS ago. It was supposed to be a short drabble-type thing. But I just get so involved. Oh, C/O, you are an addiction! ::shaketh fist!::

Okay...anyway, Happy Birthday!!
