"Alien", a pre-review
Well, color me surprised!

The plot weasels handled that episode remarkably well, considering.

However, I can sum this episode up for you in exactly three words:

Quack, Olivia. Quack.

Oh, and someone help me out, please? Was Casey's hair at all darker this episode? This will help me decide whether or not to commence in earnest with "Plan B", because, in light of the imminent return of Alex Cabot to the streets of New York, Casey must return to her gorgeous red locks. STAT.

Anyway, tomorrow you will get the full review, as always.

Provided that I'm not in some sort of Nyquil coma.

Twoodles.

Was Casey's hair at all darker this episode?

It looked darker, but word is this ep was filmed a while back.

I'm still trying to get over Georgie being a judge. o_O

filmed a while back.

Aha! That would also explain the lack of baby tummy on Mar. And the guest appearance of Remnants of Whore Hair.

Hmmmmm....

Thanks, dearest!

Oh, and I'm sure we've seen Georgie as a judge before, haven't we? Could have sworn....

:D

And the guest appearance of Remnants of Whore Hair.

LOL

Oh, and I'm sure we've seen Georgie as a judge before, haven't we?

Georgie was a madam once. I was all "o_O" about that, too.

I totally love when people know who I'm talking about without me having to explain it. I love you! :D
seftiri: All Smilesseftiri on December 7th, 2005 04:24 am (UTC)
Oh darling, I know Georgie. I watched that show RELIGIOUSLY. And Georgie was my favorite of the sisters, followed by Teddy.

Did you notice that the principal of the school was the tarty wife from "Mama's Family"?

There were a lot of recognizable people in this episode.

Danielle: Felicity and Mariska - Fandomsdani_ellie on December 7th, 2005 04:30 am (UTC)
AHH! I LOVED Teddy. Loved Falconer. I had a wee crush on George Clooney when I was like, 12. Heh.

Did you notice that the principal of the school was the tarty wife from "Mama's Family"?

THAT'S who she was!! Thank you! That was bugging me.

I was kind of dreading tonight's episode, particularly as the evil bastards people over at Fox were showing the Billboard Music Awards instead of Bones and House tonight, so I had nothing to fall back on. But lo and behold, it didn't suck!

Appearance by CSU girl! Millie, wasn't it? I like her when she's actually doing her job.

Fin: What were you doing over at ___ (I can't remember)?
Millie: They have pixie stix.

*Grin* The power of sugar.

One question though: What, exactly, happened to Emma for stabbing Sean? Please tell me she didn't get off, because that's certainly what I'm seeing.

One question though: What, exactly, happened to Emma for stabbing Sean? Please tell me she didn't get off, because that's certainly what I'm seeing.

Liv forced Gillespie to cut her a deal when she found the IM logs of Sean threatening Emma with rape and other "cures" for being "a dyke". I think she got counseling and probation. It was almost an aside. The only reason I noticed the exchange at all was that Liv was wearing that blue shirt I like so much. ;)

And yes! The episode didn't suck! I am surprised and elated! But that doesn't really work for me as a motto...

"Watch SVU! It doesn't suck this week!"

See? They still have work to do, I think. ;)
Shut up and smilemorningafter2 on December 7th, 2005 04:56 am (UTC)
Ah, okay. I didn't notice that at all. Might have been in the kitchen while it happened. (What is it with me and cooking dinner during TV shows? Or eating dinner at ten thirty at night, for that matter.) I guess counseling and probation is fair.

Hm... how about "Watch SVU! We got Casey!" I mean, it's certainly a more compelling reason for me

Stacystacyyy on December 7th, 2005 04:51 am (UTC)
Oh, quack indeed.

Remember when Mariska co-hosted The View, and Chris was on as a guest a few months back? One of the bloopers from SVU they showed was from this episode, so it must have been filmed...a really long time ago, lol. So I say commence with Plan B immediately, and show no mercy. :D
seftiriseftiri on December 7th, 2005 05:04 am (UTC)
Aha. Little known fact about me: I really don't do well with interview shows, articles, etc. about the actors who play my favorite characters, so I was not, in fact, aware that Mar had co-hosted The View.

It's weird, I know, but if I'm writing fanfic about a pair of characters, I really can't watch interviews with the actors or read really indepth articles about them and stuff. It throws my writing off. Yep, I'm a geek. :D

I agree that the ep must have been filmed a while ago, though. Mar's hair told us that much. LOL

Plan B has one vote! Squee! I've been planning my letter to the Hair Gal for a week now. ;)
Stacystacyyy on December 7th, 2005 05:34 am (UTC)
Ah, well it makes sense that it would throw your writing off. But yeah, that episode of The View was sometime in early May, so yeah, old episode.

Plan B needs to be done. It just does.
Backwards Girl: Faith2fight_back83 on December 7th, 2005 05:06 am (UTC)
I'm just shocked that this episode was fairly coherent. It was actually all connected in a fairly rational way and I don't know what to do with that. By now, I'm so used to random, forced sub-plots that actual coherence doesn't make any sense. And that's sad, really.

As an aside, the quack comment got the chicken song stuck in my head. You know, the song that everyone HAS to dance to at weddings? Don't know the name of it and I don't know why I made that random connection but I blame it all on you. It's really friggin annoying.
seftiri: O_oseftiri on December 7th, 2005 03:49 pm (UTC)
Hooray for coherence!

But I'm sorry about the song! I have no idea how that could have happened!

Shall I replace it with something equally as annoying? The macarena, perhaps? Or Mnah Mnah?

;)

I didn't know what to do with myself after this episode. My roommate decided to watch with me for the first time and I spent most of the episode trying to prepare her for absolute suckage. But after a while I just stopped talking and by the end all I could say was, "What? That didn't suck?" And it was CRAZY.

And it was soooo gay!

I was pretty happy with Casey in this episode too, but I like her better when she doesn't pull her hair back...I mean if it has to be blond...So WoOt!
seftiri: Benson Cute Smileseftiri on December 7th, 2005 03:59 pm (UTC)
I know, shocking wasn't it? I was taking notes, expecting with every ticka tappa of the keyboard that the ep was going to just blow and...and...nothing.

I was so surprised.

I like Casey's hair up...the better for Olivia to take it down at night. ;)

penny_grrl on December 7th, 2005 06:11 am (UTC)
I was also pleasantly surprised at this ep. The writing didn't suck, there was lots of Casey and lots of Casey and Liv together, there was subtext galore, and Oliska actually seemed to care about the vics again. Regardless of when this ep was filmed, it is indeed time to launch Plan B. I'm always down for another distraction from finals. ;-)
seftiri: C/O assetsseftiri on December 7th, 2005 06:05 pm (UTC)
Plan B gets another vote! w00t!!

Yes, this ep was filled with subtext and lovely moments and it didn't suck!

They'd better watch out! If they keep this up, I'll have to buy more limes.
rave_review on December 7th, 2005 01:49 pm (UTC)
So gay? Damn. I really need to start working normal hours! All this hoyay is just going over my head.
The only thing we can do right now about Casey's hair is send lots of threatening letters hope with all of our hearts.

Get better soon!
seftiri: C/O Yayseftiri on December 7th, 2005 06:12 pm (UTC)
Oh the subtext! The subtext!

Is that another vote for Plan B?? ;) w00t!

And thanks. I'm working on feeling better. It's not going well but I'm working on it. :)
TrueXena: Huh? - Ambertruexena on December 7th, 2005 04:24 pm (UTC)
who knew the writers of SVU could make an episode that actually made sense? ALL of it!

Side note: I thought of you and sHay this morning. ;o)
While getting the crumbsnatcher ready for school today, the CBS Early Show was on in the background. I saw this segment where this 'designer/style' guy was trimming trees. He had one that was all red, one that was all white, then they showed one that was all PURPLE, and I kid you not, he had LIME GREEN ribbon around it!
seftiri: Squee!seftiri on December 7th, 2005 06:14 pm (UTC)
My tree! My tree!

Now that is a Christmas tree to be proud of!

TrueXena: Limetastic Holidaytruexena on December 7th, 2005 07:33 pm (UTC)
i have no idea if 'Limetastic' is even one of your words, but eh. Fantastic/Limetastic. It worked for me.

Limer Tree Page <--just in case you feel the need to view the segment for yourself. ;o)
