And the plot thickens...
My mother is in the hospital with the flu now.

If you'll recall, she was actually feeling better! But today she started to have chest pain, arm and hand tingling, and other symptoms.

Turns out her potassium level is way way way lower than it should be.

She sent my dad home to tell me to look into potassium deficiency. Of course, I have all the symptoms of it. So I am adding potassium into my diet now in hopes of staying out of the hospital myself.

Since I am seven and a half inches taller than my mother (not to mention heavier), my levels are not as likely to be as horrible. So if I catch it now, I should be good to go.

Once again, no review yet. I keep promising it and not being able to deliver. So no promises as to when this time...only that it will eventually get done.

I am sending out a special prayer that none of you, my dear friends, gets this flu. It is a total bastard.

::huggles to you all::

I'm off to look at the potassium levels in Juicy Juice versus Gatorade.

Casey Love to You All!

Twoodles.

Thank you, hon. She's on her way home from the hospital at the moment.

Thank you, doll! Mom's on her way home and I'm fighting with the bad eyesight thing again, but it will probably wear off in a few hours or so.

:)

o_O Oh dear. That is one wicked flu bug. *Sends out get-well thoughts to you and your mom* I cannot tell you how much I hope that you both feel better soon.

::hugs::

Thank you sweetie. I keep thinking that if the flu is this bad now, what's it going to be like next year?

??

Suddenly I want to know if outbreak suits come in Lime... ;)

*Hugs back* Oh, god... don't even think about next year's flu... that's just too depressing.

My take on this flu stuff is as long as the mutated bird flu stays out of the states, I'll take whatever else I get. Not happily, and certainly not without a healthy dose of complaining about it, but I'll take it. Then again, you've got are more unusual symptoms than I do.

*Grin* I'd buy a lime outbreak suit. I don't know what money I'd buy it with, but I'd figure something out.

Oh, for the love of Matthew Modine. Shoo, influenza virus, shoo!

That's the best laugh I've had all day! LOLOLOL

We're working on it, dear! Promise.

You poor thing! That virus is evil. Get well soon to you and your mum!
seftiri: NovakJusticeseftiri on December 11th, 2005 05:38 pm (UTC)
Evil doesn't even cover it! Though I did have a nice dream last night finally.

Sigh...I was dating Amy Carlson in the dream. I don't know if it was Amy as Amy or Amy as Kelly Gaffney, actually, but we were definitely dating. And I definitely looked very cute in my button fly jeans and vibrant blue tank top when we went out.

LOLOL

Why does my subconscious see fit to give me dreams like that but not similar dreams starring Diane Neal??

Sigh...

::huggles to you::

Thank you dear. If I could just get back to feeling human. That's all I ask.

Sigh...

How are you?

I hope you and your mother get well soon.

If you like banannas at all, try those to get more potassium in your system.
seftiri: Limer Green and Goliath Purpleseftiri on December 11th, 2005 05:44 pm (UTC)
Thank you for the good wishes. And for that icon which made me LOL!!

I do love bananas but I can't eat them. They are on the list of no no foods for the migraines. Which sux.

I have to settle for Juicy Juice, which has 220mg of potassium per 8 fl. oz.

:D

Have you considered hiring a priest/Shaman/all around exorcist to come and exorcise the flu from the house? At this point, it can't hurt, right? *bg*

I can't tell you how sorry I am that you and your Mom are suffering so from this virulence! Keep chugging down the Juicy Juice and dreaming of beautiful blondes...the latter won't help with the potassium, but when you're dreaming of dating Amy, who cares. *lol*

Be well, dearest, and good thoughts for you and your Mom!!!

I would pay good money to be able to go back to that dream this afternoon. Sigh...

Mom's home from the hospital and is now decorating the house for Christmas. /rolling eyes

Her idea of a rest is working only 8 hours a day instead of her usual 12.

Trisa: limecartrisa419 on December 12th, 2005 02:54 am (UTC)
Lime's are actually a really good source of Potassium. Just thought you might appreciate that factoid. :)
seftiri: Squee!seftiri on December 12th, 2005 03:09 am (UTC)
OMG, your icon is pure love! :D

Limes are high in potassium. Hmmmm...perhaps that is the reason for my unusual lime craving I had the other night. My body was trying to tell me I was low in potassium.

The human body is an amazing thing. Especially when arranged into the form of the Limer Goddess. But that's another story... ;)
Trisatrisa419 on December 12th, 2005 03:36 am (UTC)
Thank you :) I've got a couple lime themed icon's if you want I'll make/give you one I've got. Maybe you'll get potassium and get better from lime icons, you never know.

Well wishes to your mother!!!I'd suggest slipping limes into her food, but that may just freak her out. As is, my own mother can't seem to understand why I "sit with a glazed look and slight drool" whenever SVU is on, especially if it's a casey scene. Anyway...

Still sending the vibes/thoughts/karma your way!

My mother is doing quite well at the moment, so thank you!

It took my own mother over three months to "get" who Casey was. I can't tell you how many times she asked "So this Casey person? Who is she again? Is she the new lawyer on that show?"

Sigh... ;)

Thanks dearheart! :D
