Plan B has now commenced!
Hey all you happy Limers and other Casey Novak fans!

Are you of the opinion that our darling ADA should go back to being a red head?

If so and you want to give the "Hair Gal" a nudge in the right direction, I have the name and email address of who I believe is the lead or key hair stylist on SVU to share with you.

Her name is Lizz Scalice and imdb.com lists her as hair stylist while others are listed as "additional hair stylist". I took that to mean that she is the key hair stylist but I could be wrong.

In any case, I decided that the "catch more flies with honey" tactic might be the way to start. I.E., I wrote an essentially nice letter with mention of only one criticism. An excerpt from my letter can be found below, just to give you an idea.

Again, her name is Lizz Scalice and the email address that I located for her is justlizz@msn.com

For instance, I would like to say how much I have been enjoying the chignons that Diane Neal has been wearing as Casey Novak. That style and the barretted "pull-back" (last seen in "RAW", I believe) are two of my favorites of hers. Until this season, actually, I would have said it would be impossible to do wrong with Ms. Neal's hair. It seems so lovely and stylish no matter how she wears it on screen.

However, there is one little criticism I have this season: I do not like her as a blonde. It turns out, I'm afraid, that I am not alone in my assessment, either. I have the distinct pleasure of being in touch with a handful or so of SVU fans on a weekly basis and for the most part, we all agree. Ms. Neal and, by extension, Casey Novak looks better as a redhead.

Not just physically, though I admit that the red hair does complement Ms. Neal's lovely pallor more readily. As a redhead, Casey Novak is distinguished in a very important way from both Alexandra Cabot and Liz Donnelly. Those of us who are Casey Novak fans do not want her to look like Alex Cabot or Liz Donnelly. We celebrate the character's differences and feel that making her a blonde has homogenized her. Blondes are a common sight on television. Redheads, however, stand out.

Let Plan B commence! However, if anyone wants to wait to see if I get a response first, that's okay too. You never know. Now that SM is slated to return to the role of Alex Cabot, maybe the "Hair Weasel Gal" has seen the error of her ways and is out buying "Copper Penny" L'Oreal even as I write this. ;)

My State of Mind: productiveproductive

I'm gonna give it a couple of weeks for her to respond back to you and then I shall partake in plan B. Okay maybe not that long but I'm gonna hope for the best.

On a side note hope you're feeling a better. Is gatorade doing the trick?

I am feeling better, actually. I am not going to analyze it but rather just enjoy it. :)

Of course, I'll let everyone know if I get a response from "Hair Gal". I can't imagine that I will. I do frequently imagine that I will be served with a restraining order from DN's camp tho.

I, too, shall wait to see if you get a response before I join in.

But yes! I am so glad you started Plan B! Yay Plan B!

I am all for her returning to red - like the straight (that wavy thing she had was not her bestest look, IMHO)

Yes. The red is important. I also like it straight not wavy. :D
eclecticfaneclecticfan on December 13th, 2005 01:56 am (UTC)
so true - not wavy... my mistake ;P

I am in awe of you and your courage to actually write to the hair girl. Thanks for voicing the majority's opinion!! You never cease to amaze me with the dedication you have for "the cause".

Sorry if I sound like a stalker, but you rock!

Um...thank you! No need to bow. LOL

I don't know if it takes courage to do these things or stupidity or a blend of both...but usually, if I say I am going to do something, I do it. I wasn't always that way. When I was younger, I never spoke unless spoken to and I rarely complained about anything or said what I meant. I thought my opinions were unmentionable.

Nowadays I feel differently. If you want things to happen, do something about it is now how I feel. It doesn't always go the way I planned but hey, that's what makes life interesting. LOL

Thank you, dearheart. You rock too!

Thank you just...thank you.

My contribution to Plan B. I'm not sure if I like it.

Yes, I know, 100 icons filled up. That's okay, I just wanted your opinion. :)
seftiri: Squee!seftiri on December 13th, 2005 05:40 am (UTC)
I ADORE it! I also took it! :D I can always switch out some of my older, unused icons. :D

Yay! Really? I wasn't sure about the red text...

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of icon deleting. I don't think I can get rid of too many more, though. And now I need/want to start using one of my CI icons, especially if I'm going to continue posting CI stuff.

Icons are an addiction. ♥
