So...I have a question...
Would you all think less of me if I told you I was absolutely fascinated with Amy Brenneman and am now addicted to the re-runs of Judging Amy?

Whenever I watch the show, I sorta feel...better. Like maybe life is a messed up, chaotic, heap of contradictions but that's okay.

It's weird.

Anyway, I thought I'd ask. I don't know if it somehow cuts into my lesbian points or something. Does anyone else on my flist like this show? I'm not alone in this, am I?

Allrighty then.

"Groundhog Day" is coming on now and I love that movie. So I am going to go make some blintzes and hang out with Phil, Larry, and Rita in Punxatawny. :)

What could be better? "Groundhog Day", potato blintzes, and Imitrex (cuz I am having a migraine thing today, dammit!).

Casey Love to you all!

j.amy ... meh. i watched the first season i think and then got distracted. it wasn't bad, just not my kind of drama. i did like tyne daily's character though.

Okay...one vote for meh. ;)

I don't know. I just like it. And Tyne Daly is hysterical. :)
But they all are. The writing is very erudite and reminds me of early Buffy. :)
shayshaych_03 on December 16th, 2005 04:59 pm (UTC)
there was like a split second on tv one year where smart writing was all the rage. buffy. amy. west wing. etc. some shows still have it, but most are just "gettin buy"

omg Groundhog Day is the ONE movie I can't stand! LOL I watched it when it first came out and I was so upset with myself for SITTING through it. :p
seftiri: limeseftiri on December 16th, 2005 04:20 pm (UTC)

I have two movies like that:

Mad Love and Random Hearts

I would have asked for my money back on both of them but I got to see both of them for free. Incredibly awful movies. Both of them though I would have to say Mad Love is the worst of the two.
joemacsanne on December 16th, 2005 04:34 pm (UTC)
LOL I thought you were going to say that 80's Mariska movie. lmfao

Yea! No point lossage!

I've never been to Punxatawny but I'd like to go. :D You would have thought I'd have made it there sometime in my life. I did live in PA for almost 13 years when I was a kid.

I used to watch it a lot. It's ehr hair.
seftiri: O_oseftiri on December 17th, 2005 03:45 pm (UTC)
OMG You're RIGHT! I am such a hair whore! It IS her hair!

I don't think you lose points at all. The fact that one of the reasons you watch it is for the female lead character may actually earn you points! ;)
Besides, it's not a bad show, I watch it sometimes but haven't managed to get sucked in.
Gilmore girls tho...I've definitely been flipping through the channels and been snared into a fair number of those.
seftiri: Squee!seftiri on December 17th, 2005 03:59 pm (UTC)
Another vote for no points lossage! Whee!

I tried to get into Gilmore Girls and it hasn't worked so far. Maybe in a couple of years. ;)

I watched Judging Amy the last 2 seasons mainly because it was a leading to another show I watched but I enjoyed it. I occassionally catch re-runs now.

I've never seen Groundhog Day.

Groundhog Day is cute and the only movie in which I can stand Andie McDowell. Well, so far, anyway. :D

That's exactly how I feel. Her messed up life makes me feel like maybe mine will work out someday. ;)

I don't know that my opinion in this matter will help all that much in the points category, since I am fairly certain that the Lesbian Police have come and confiscated my membership card, but I have always loved Judging Amy. Despite Amy's HORRENDOUS taste in men, I found it intelligent, socially conscious, and the acting is far and above that found on most network tv. And I have always loved Tyne Daly...my favorite on Cagney and Lacey *bg*.

And Groundhog Day RULES!! I adore that movie. My favorite part is when he steals Phil and they drive over the cliff together!! Too funny!!

And yes, Random Hearts did suck....except I will watch anything with Kristin Scott Thomas in it becasue she is tres, tres gorgeous!! *bg*

Your opinion helps greatly! Yes, she does have horrendous taste in men but the shows are just so well written!

And GHD is hysterical. My favorite part is when he sculpts Rita's face in the snow. I'm a hopeless romantic. LOL

At the end of RH, when Harrison asks Kristin if maybe they could try again someday...maybe go to a movie together, I literally said right out loud in the theatre "Just don't go to THIS one!" The entire theatre laughed. LOL

Ooh, I haven't watched Judging Amy in forever. I hardly remember anything about it. I feel oddly compelled to go find a rerun now. Not that I could. Pretty much anything that's not a cartoon is basically banned from the house until evening-time.

If you lose points for watching Judging Amy (which you shouldn't), then I'm on the negative scale, because I still get sucked into Nick Jr. cartoons with my brothers. Your points are safe, fear not.

Cool! Thanks dear!! :D

Yes! Judging Amy is sooo love. I used to watch it during lunch everyday because it was the only good thing on at that time.

Plus, I used to watch Cagney and Lacey everyday too as it reran at a time when I could watch TV but nothing was on. So then I kind of had to watch Judging Amy on mere principle. I mean, it's all about Tyne Daly.

But no, you are not alone in your Amy Brenneman and subsequent Judging Amy fascination. No worries.

Judging Amy is great. I have a strange, would-never-admit-it-in-public adoration for both that and Providence. o_O

Groundhog Day is fun, too! My mom has that on DVD somewhere...I think.
seftiri: squintseftiri on December 17th, 2005 04:18 pm (UTC)
Good to know. Good to know. I, too, felt like I shouldn't admit to liking Judging Amy then I had to know if others liked it too. It was "a moral imperative", to quote another favorite movie of mine. LOL

lime_magazine on December 17th, 2005 07:47 pm (UTC)
Judging Amy
::giggles:: I watch re-runs of Judging Amy too. I know what you men, it does make you feel better.
seftiri: Benson Cute Smileseftiri on December 18th, 2005 08:53 am (UTC)
Re: Judging Amy
I watched it completely by accident the first time I watched it. Something caught my attention in the episode and I watched the whole thing. She lives with her mother and she's a judge. That alone made me feel better about my life. LOL

PS...I love your icon! LOL
