Things Erin Did Wrong This Christmas
Didn't have the friggin' things gift wrapped by professionals

I hate wrapping gifts. No, really. I loathe it. Every Christmas, I am usually up until 3am cursing all the gods while wrapping gifts. I put it off until the last minute. I have been known to present gifts from behind my back because the item was too oddly shaped for me to even contemplate wasting time to wrap it.

Next year, some rarified personage in customer service can wrap my purchases made online and shipped at a reasonable time before Christmas.

And that will be the end of that drama once and for all.

Thank God.

I'm finally off to bed. I got done early because I started at 10pm instead of midnight. Numb3rs was a repeat that I had actually seen. Go figure.

Twoodles, Darlings!

OMG next year invite me over and I'll totally wrap everything for you! I *heart* wrapping. :D

Okay then. I could probably arrange that. :D And that would be the end to my wrapping drama too!

Last night I got to the last one and decided "screw it" and dropped it into a bag. I will be so happy when I get things pre-wrapped. LOL

I love wrapping gifts but only if they're perfectly square/rectangular. The perfectionist in me. Otherwise, it's gift bags. Have a wonderful Christmas, dear!

Merry Christmas to you too. ::hugs::

i too suck at the present wrapping. when i first started to give jewelry as gifts, i would take the necklace, ball it up and wrap paper around it and tie the paper (kind of like wrapping a wine bottle. i called them "present bombs" LOL

then of course the dollar tree and cheap, tiny bags came to be and i never looked back. we bag everything. :D though we do keep paper around for the monster presents. (usually kids toys)

Present bombs? LOLOLOLOLOLOL That's funny!

Ugh, I so loathe wrapping that even THINKING about it now makes me cringe and I'm done.

even funnier was watching ppl open them... resrting to knives, scissors and even their teeth...lol!

That was me during my Christmas breaks in college, at a Utah dept store called ZCMI. I love to wrap, and am damn good at it cuz of that job, if I do say so myself. :D Proof? Evie brought all of her gifts to the bakery the other day and I wrapped them for her during my lunch. LOLOL

Now THAT'S an idea! I could go to Vegas, buy all my Christmas presents there, and then have YOU wrap them while I eat pie.

That sounds very pleasant, actually. :D I'll be there in late September/early October next year, okay? ;)

I can't argue with that! Sounds like a lovely plan. Vegas is a great place for both shopping and pie. :D

Shopping and pie. And other fun things. This could be a really good trip.

With the added bonus of not having to wrap gifts. LOL

*Laughs* I just make sure everything I buy comes in a nice rectangular box.

But fear not, I despise wrapping gifts as well. I'm terrible at it, and I always look at it when it's wrapped and say "well, that sucks", then think "screw it, I'm not going through that again" and just leave it. You can generally hear me swearing at least through the house when it comes time to wrap presents.

For the occasional oddly shaped present (a candle holder for my mother this year o_O), I give it to my brothers and let them figure it out. They like puzzles, and they like wrapping gifts. And more importantly, I don't have to do it. Everyone wins!

And yet we get it done somehow. I did curse a bit last night even though most of my stuff was rectangular. I just hate it so much!

LOLOL I used to get themed wrapping paper every year so everyone would know which presents were from me. One year I managed to find three different papers that were purple. I used to have to make a ritual out of it, with cocoa and music, and themed paper. And I never felt any better about it.

Now I just get it over with. LOL

i like to wrap presents...the problem is I can't do it very well. Most people just take a look at presents which I have wrapped and go,

"erm yes dear...that's er...nice."

Can't imagine what makes them do that, apart from the sellotape stuck in random places where the paper has torn, or the fact that its scrunched up in several places...ok I'm rambling again, so I'll just stop.
seftiri: LMAOseftiri on December 24th, 2005 01:54 pm (UTC)
Been there, done that! LOL

I have been known to "patch" with differing paper because I mismeasured and didn't feel like wasting all the paper I had already cut. LOL
