"Taboo", a pre-review

I love it when Cagney and Lacey Novak and Benson go to serve papers and/or arrest a perp together, don't you?

However, I would have sacrificed that moment if they had just gotten rid of the last 10 minutes of this episode. Because they SUCKED!

Review tomorrow, lovelies! I am thinking of going to the grocery store to get some cinnamon rolls. God, am I craving them. Anyone else? /random

My roomie and I spent the first 10 minutes of the show trying to figure out who the mom was...then we speculated wildly about who the father was...coming up with more and more twisted theories as the seconds ticked past. I came up with one that involved the Ebola virus and a overly frisky monkey with species identity disorder. I can see the writers going there this season...and Huang hasn't had a whole lot to do yet.

Imagine our disappointment when the baby's father was the mother's father. How simple is that? We feel gipped! And strangely desensitized.

Let me just chortle a moment here about all the ways the "baby tummy" was avoided. Large, funky coats...a diamond-chain wall...an arm curiously bent around her stomach...large zippy sweater things accompanied by weird camera angles...the suspect's head...tables/chairs... Those are the ones I noticed, I'm sure there were more!

I rather miss the days when the cameras would lovingly show Benson strutting into the squad room with her ab-hugging sweaters and gigantic webbed police belt and her brown eyes just screaming "find me a horny ADA ASAP!"

I only caught the last 10 minutes of it. Even though I got off work 3 hours early at 9 I didn't get home till 9:45 so only caught the end of the trial on...but I did tape it.

I had a cinnamon roll earlier tonight at work. We had a batch that we couldn't sell so the staff got to eat them.

Okay, so, maybe it's just me...but I had a serious case of deja-vu at the end of this ep. Did the guy who played the dad play in another episode of SVU?? That whole scene with him holding the baby and then having to hand it over to Liv seemed so familiar. Or, maybe there was a similar scene in another ep sometime? I may have to do research or it'll bug me. But...that said, all in all, a decent ep with some snarkpoints.
