Only one more after this one...
Is it somehow a law of the Universe that I get a sore throat just before going on a trip?

My State of Mind: aggravatedaggravated

mint tea with lemon and honey... if it's not a trigger anyway... that and vitamin C are what i used to kick my sore throat out the door. (the cough is being a little more stubborn... but i have dayquil and ricola for that LOL)

have a great trip :)

I opted for something a little stronger, tea-wise. Homemade ginger tea with lime, honey, nutmeg and a shot of whiskey. It seems to have helped. Of course I drank that last night and not this morning before work. I'm going to have some more tonight when I get home.

This morning I am mainlining vitamin C Vitaminwater and these lozenges called Airborne? Which also seem to be helping. Hope you feel better soon, though!

And thanks, I plan to. Of course. :)
shayshaych_03 on May 17th, 2006 02:09 pm (UTC)
all well being allergic to ginger i never think of it LOL sounds like it was quite a bracing drink LOL

gargling with salt water might help too.

i am actually better than i was over the weekend. LOL event crud is not fun. i'm glad i only get it once every so often LOL

Keep taking the Airborne! We swear by that stuff in my house, works wonders. Keep positive and I bet the soarness(along with the jitters that are probably causing it) will go away! :D

The stuff is amazing! I really feel almost better. Still a little sorethroat action but otherwise fine.

And yeah, I came to the conclusion that jitters were causing the illness too.

::rolls eyes at self::

YAY! Oh so pretty. And it's the brush! Of the heart! Of the SQUEE!!!!!

Hope your throat gets better. Vitamin C and Echinacea your ass.

It is the brush! Of the heart! Of the squee!!!! :D

You knew I had to use it at some point, right? ;)

And it will. I have Power-C VitaminWater sitting right here. It sounds like a battery but it tastes good and it has 100% of the vitamin C requirements of the day. Not to mention a crapload of Vitamin Bs in all flavors. And some zinc!

I should be fine by this afternoon. :)
Angelina Ballerina: Irenegreenovalfruit on May 17th, 2006 02:39 pm (UTC)
Oh well, that battery acid drink sounds good.

But yeah, if you feel bad tonight, it's basically any concoction of lemon, hot water, garlic and honey that'll help you. And ginger.

(If you're still bad whenever, hit me up for a smoothie recipe that'll make you like YAY healthy)

*sigh* Love the brush, of course.

Your journal makes me drool all over my desk. Diane Neal is a freakin' goddess. Mmm. And I am *so* a limer. Remind me to tell you my own funny story about limes and Diane Neal.

Okay, sore throat. My mom used to make me this thing when I was younger and got a sore throat before a chorus concert or a voice lessons solo... Straight lemon juice, half as much water, sweeten to your liking. Heat it up until it's as hot as you like your tea/coffee, etc. It might burn like hell, but it usually worked for me.

Hope you feel better dear. I'm off to snoop in more of your journal :P

Okay you have to tell me the lime/DN story now. :D

I'm glad you like my little Limer Lounge. :) Feel free to look around as much as you like. All Diane Fans are welcome here.

Oh and thanks for the concoction recipe! If I'm still feeling bad later, I'll try it out.

Okay...This happened before I found your LiveJournal...

My best friend and I come up with food names for things we can't talk openly about (She's a lesbian, but still lives at home [she's 19], and her mom's a big homophobe). Well, one day, we were watching SVU, and talking about breast sizes of Mariska and Stephanie March. I was talking about Mariska's, and I was like, "That woman's got some nice...coconuts.". And so began the conversation. Stephanie March's became apples, and Diane's, Limes. So every time we see limeade, or those Southern Comfort with Lime commercials...there's a lot of snickering.

Imagine how hard I laughed when I found your journal. *grin*

It's her destiny to be associated with limes wherever she goes now. Poor thing.

The etiology of the word "Limer" in reference to her came from my friend Shay and I having a discussion about TWoP and how much they hated Casey and Diane and how often they brought up the lime green outfits she wore in the 5th and 6th season.

We decided to "embrace the lime" as it were and from there the word "Limer" was born.

We are a small but fierce group. ;) And growing.

My sister hates it. Every time we go shopping, I pick up anything that's lime green and I grin and giggle like I'm 14. She gets *so* annoyed. Aheh. But oh, how I lurve Diane.

I would absolutely love to embrace the limes...er..."lime". *cough*

Hey, just wanted to say that I hope you have a great trip :). RL has been hectic for me recently (Though I had time to find out that one of my cousins likes to hang upside down from second story windows *don't ask*) what with finals and all, so I've been popping in and out. Anyway, I just wanted to say that love all the banners that you've made. Don't really have very many cold remedies...apart from lots of OJ. Anyway, I'll stop babbling now *looks sheepish*.
seftiri: Limers Ruleseftiri on May 18th, 2006 07:28 pm (UTC)
The cold/whatever seems to be well and truly gone now and that makes me most joyful.

Thank you dearheart for the good wishes. I leave the house in just over an hour and I am very excited.

Keep that cousin of yours indoors and away from upperstory windows. !! O_o
