Casey Haters Make Me Want to Scream
Mornings are not my thing anyway. I am not a morning person. I am barely an early afternoon person. But when you combine the ass-crack of dawn with some idiotic Casey Hater, then I get very very cranky.

Hence, my mood now.

A non-Law & Order list had an OT thread entitled Stephanie March. They were discussing A/O and other possible pairings. Two people posted that they could take almost anything but don't talk to them about Casey. Now, being the Limer that I am, I could not let this go without offering my polite but differing opinion. One of the women wrote back, also polite.

Then this morning, some twit writes:

"Limer, huh - well I suppose SOMEONE has to be - lol

There's nothing wrong with Casey per se - it's just that she shouldn't
be slashed with Alex, Abbie, Serena and especially never ever with
Olivia. Simple as that.

(You can slash her with Elliot if you want *eg*)

(name removed by me but the following parenthetical was hers) (dedicated Alex/Olivia slasher)"

Needless to say, I am peeved. First, it's the ass-crack of dawn. Second, I am already in a bad mood. Third, I was playing nice before. And fourth, no one--NO ONE--tells me to slash Casey with ::shudder:: the UnStabler.

So I responded with this:

"Well too bad, because C/O is what I write.

You know, I am glad that you like A/O. A/O is a wonderful ship and
has produced many quality stories. And I would never ever tell YOU
what characters can and cannot be slashed nor would I make fun of your
ship or fandom. That would be rude and uncalled for.

So I tell you what...I will continue to write what I write, which is
C/O. (Which I do damn well, I might add.) You continue to write what
you want. And neither of us has to read each others works. How's
that work for you?

DiNovia

proud to be a Limer"

I haven't gotten a response from the twit yet. But, under the category of "One door closes, God opens a Window", about ten minutes after posting that response another list member contacted me privately to ask me if I was THE DiNovia who wrote Arte/Scienza, etc. And she proceeded to tell me how wonderful my writing was and how much she enjoyed reading it.

Which, I admit, made me feel a bit better.

And then--THEN--I had to talk to a collections agent about a past due bill and SHE WAS NICE TO ME! She was respectful, pleasant, accomodating, and most of all, she didn't call me a "liar" and a "lazy delinquent" like one of her supervisors did. (Which he did after I told him I'd been unemployed for over a year due to illness and two major surgeries. When he called me a liar I told him I would be happy to come down to his office with my medical records and my SCARS and show him. Ratbastard.)

So anyway, I say "Good try, God, but what if I don't WANT to cheer up today??"

Gushing fanfic praise for a fic I wrote years and years ago and a nice collections agent. If this keeps up, my brother will answer my emails, my cat will grow an opposable thumb and start letting himself out, and Rachel will willingly read my C/O fic.

What a world.

Twoodles.

i think that last is as likely to happen as oh...

Casey and Olivia actually kissing, passionately, on screen, on an ep, and have it not be 1) a gag 2) a dream or 3) any other type of "stunt" for ratings... ;)

but we can dream :D
seftiri: limeseftiri on July 14th, 2005 10:04 pm (UTC)
Yes. And currently, I am dreaming that Wendy Crewson plays a lesbian in everything else she's going to be in from now on.
shayshaych_03 on July 15th, 2005 04:36 am (UTC)
let me guess... you just caught her in "an unexpected love"?? (and if that's the case, darn... i wanted to tape that againg LOL) or... you've been reading Fletcher's Janeway/Lynn fic LOL
seftiri: Limersseftiri on July 15th, 2005 09:56 am (UTC)
And the answer is A, An Unexpected Love. The scariest thing about that little bow-wrapped package of a movie was that Mac Hays dressed EXACTLY like an old boss of mine, a supposedly straight woman. It was kinda creepy. LOL
shayshaych_03 on July 15th, 2005 09:58 am (UTC)
wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and i missed it? waaah i soooooooo wanted to tape it again :( was it on lifetime? or lifetime movie network?
seftiri: limeseftiri on July 15th, 2005 10:01 am (UTC)
One of those. I don't remember which. Probably LMN because American Dreamer came on after it.

Sorry to but in, but would you know whether or not that film is available on DVD over there? I know it's not here.

I do love Wendy Crewson.
seftiri: Limersseftiri on July 16th, 2005 02:37 pm (UTC)
It is not available here either. Which definitely sucks, because Wendy Crewson is too damn fucking hot in a black tank top. Sigh...
ralstralst on July 14th, 2005 08:27 pm (UTC)
Can we define willingly? *g*

Hey, I loved Stabler's Roses, and that had a smidgen of Limer-love... along with a fuming ADA Lilith *swoon*
seftiri: Limersseftiri on July 14th, 2005 10:05 pm (UTC)
Why thank you! I am glad you liked it! And yes, a fuming ADA Lilith is much much too fun.

Bigotry on the LJ! *GASP* Ya know, that is so wrong. How can anyone in their right mind think they can decide what can and can't be written. No one has the right to decide who can and can't love (even if it is fictional)!

And, by the way, I was/am a big DiNovia fan!

Oh, and I am still working on that story I promised.

Be Well!!!
seftiri: limeseftiri on July 14th, 2005 10:12 pm (UTC)
Yeah, snark. Though I fully admit that perhaps I was a little sleep deprived, a little overwrought, ehhh...maybe a little bitchy this morning and therefore the email did not go over well with me. The author has since sent me a private email telling me that I have not understood his/her English sense of humor. So there you have it.

newbie_2unewbie_2u on July 14th, 2005 10:24 pm (UTC)
Yeah, and you and I both know it's easy to be misunderstood with limited space to write and no visual cues to go by. An English sense of humor or (humour) is a bit different for sure. But, still, the whole "Simple as that" thingy...

Anyhoo, get some sleep, and keep on keeping on!
seftiri: Limersseftiri on July 14th, 2005 10:38 pm (UTC)
Okay, yes, we do know that it is easy to have a misunderstanding via the written word but I pretty much know sarcasm. My mother wins the local Freestyle Snark and Bark every year. Plus, I have my fair share of snarky friends, some of whom are from the UK. And I still misunderstood it. So...take it as you will.

I am going to eat dinner, go to bed, and try to think happy C/O thoughts.

Can't wait to read your story!
